Alex and Nick showed me the basics of Mudbox today so I could start doing some texturing tests for the exterior desert floor. My first attempt was very swishy, so I did another attempt trying to keep the style more blocky and true to the digital painting reference art. Since I was painting on a near-flat plane anyway I used Photoshop for the second attempt, which turned out a lot more suited to the style needs. I produced a second variant of this version, keeping the colours and brushes the same, just so there would be more options and variety when texturing.

Some rock texture tests. We decided to go more for the centre-right one. |

Used a similar style rock texture but with different colours for the interior rocks. |
