E4 Esting: Sketch

For this section I scanned in 9 sketches, each rotating the direction of sketch strokes a bit more from the last, so that it can loop continuously. I spent a while experimenting with colours and textures but decided it looked best against a black background with a simple gradient of colour. I duplicated the scanned image sequence, and applied a blending mode that removed the paper from the pencil, and applied a random slight movement expression - this creates the 'shine' effect around the edges, where the two layers randomly overlap. It basically creates the effect that each frame is a new drawing, not just the same 9 repeating. Below is one of the scanned images:
