Luminosity: Grunge Buildings

This is a futuristic grungy building animation that will be comped in another shot, done in Maya. For this second version we needed the buildings to have a smaller scale, so I thought instead of re-modelling the buildings in Maya I would try a quicker, dirtier attempt and just play with the animation in After Effects. So I scaled, masked, flipped, and color graded multiple instances of the animation and I think just about pulled it off.
The next thing to happen in this sequence is a laser beam that wipe across the screen to transition to the next scene. I created it just using a 3D layer with a pivot point centered at the top of the sky scraper.
